Popping Champagne and Celebrating Love: Lyle and Lillian's Engagement Session

Some engagement sessions feel effortless from the very beginning, and that was true for Lyle and Lillian. Their session had a relaxed rhythm, genuine connection, and a sense of celebration that made every moment easy to capture.

There’s something special about a spacious grassy area surrounded by trees, and that’s exactly where I had the pleasure of photographing Lyle and Lillian’s engagement session near the dog park and Lake North in Columbus, Nebraska. On that windy, chilly early April day, their warm connection shone through, making the atmosphere feel inviting and joyful.


As we strolled through the grassy area, the vibrant greens and the beautiful tree line set the perfect scene for capturing some amazing moments. When Lyle popped the champagne bottle, the sheer joy on Lillian's face was a highlight of the day. Their playful spirit and laughter really showcased the authentic connection they share, resulting in stunning photographs.

Now, a little backstory on how they came together: Lyle came into Valencia Salon and Boutique for a haircut, where he was treated by another stylist. Little did he know that the connection wouldn’t just be about his hair; this stylist played matchmaker and introduced him to Lillian. Fast forward, and just last December, Lyle proposed during a Christmas parade in Duncan—an unforgettable moment in their love story.

I am genuinely excited to capture their wedding this coming December at St. Isidore Catholic Church. Their journey is a beautiful reminder of how meaningful connections can blossom, and they truly make a lovely couple.
